[Script] WME Ohio DOT Reports

Ohio map editors,

Here is my script to display road reports from ODOT in WME. It is based on the Virginia DOT Reports script by MapOMatic.

Install it from GreasyFork here. https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/396178-wme-ohio-dot-reports

In the left panel, it shows a list of reports with an icon for each type (weather, road work, crash/other). The description starts with the ODOT district and the county code (eg, D08-HAM), so that each district is grouped together. Clicking on any of those lines jumps to that report on the map.

The refresh button in the tab causes it to reload the reports from the data feed.

Ohio map editors,

I uploaded a new version yesterday. For reports that have a project URL, it will now display an “Open Link” button in the report details, to open a new browser tab to the given project web page.

An excellent script.
Would it be possible to have a different icon for restricted vs closed (since we normally wouldn’t be taking any action for “restricted”)? Or have an option to only display “closed” on the map?

Hi BIll,
I’m not sure why I didn’t see this. Just checking out new forum and saw your message.
Let me look at that. I don’t think it should be too hard.

I’ve recently uploaded a new version that uses different icons when the road work or incident caused a closure. Thanks for the idea, Bill!

New version 2022.02.06.001 that makes the info window draggable and works with the latest beta WME.

Great script.

Ohio editors,
I just uploaded a minor update that hides the markers when zoomed out too far.

Enjoy!

Ohio editors,
There is a new version 2022.10.12.001 that uses a newer data feed. The one I was using before has not been working for days and might be off permanently.

There is a new version 2024.05.27.01 that fixes it with the latest WME.

A very minor update: the data feed does not appear to be sending the district number any more. In this new version, the D?? at the start of each entry has now been removed from the listing in the left panel.odot-report-listing.PNG

There is a new minor update (v2024.11.30.01) that is functionally the same but is mostly migrated to the new SDK. There is one “old style” function that it uses that should have an SDK equivalent waze soon.
