Same here, with iPhone 10 and Toyota Corolla 2022 hybrid suite. Sometimes not even turning Waze off after CarPlay startup and back on helps. This is very uncomfortable!

I can no longer view Waze on my iPhone 8 when its connected to my Pioneer AVH-X5800DAB head unit.

I want to be able to view Waze on my phone (in a dock near my steering wheel) whilst using my head unit display to control my music. I DON'T WANT TO CONTROL & VIEW WAZE ON MY HEAD UNIT.

Before, when the 2 devices connected, Waze would display a black & white 'disconnect' button on my phone. I'd have to press this every time I opened the app to view on my phone.

Since this latest update, the black & white screen no longer appears... just a blank white screen. Nothing in my phone display apart from the very top row of details (signal strength, service provider, time & battery power level).

Hi. I used Waze with carplay for the first time yesterday. I live in NYC with a 2019 Nissan Rogue. Half way through my drive the app volume became unresponsive to the cars audio controls, it was locked in at a lesser volume (the volume the cars music drops to when waze speaks over it). Then the voice giving turn directions stopped altogether. I had to restart everything then it worked again.

Also, as I read in multiple posts on this board. There definitely needs to be a way to see the upcoming turns on the HUD. I know it can dual onto the phone, but in the Rogue at least, unless I bought a car mount, the spot for the phone isn't easily viewable (it also kills the point of having the carplay up anyway). In NYC you can have up to 5 quick turns when merging. The GPS on the carplay can be a second or 2 laggy, so merging in these difficult situations is tough. For an example of this check out the merge from 495 to 278 in Queens NY - in less than a half mile you exit 495 at 17W-E; have stay to your left to I-278E (as part of a 4 lane merge); then stay to your right to I-278, then take the I-278E ramp. Waze app on the phone handles something like this decent enough, but on the Carplay without listed turns in close proximity with the lag is a disaster.

This week, Waze pulled a Spinal Tap on me. When phone is not connected, my car volume can be set from 0 to 40. When phone is connected, this holds true--until I turn on waze.

When Waze is turned on, the max volume is 11 (too quiet for highway). This cannot be deactivated unless I disconnect my phone from the vehicle and ensure that Waze is closed. I have only had this problem for the past week.

Reference: iOS 13.4.1, Waze 4.62.1.2, 2018 Honda Accord.

So I’ve tried searching forever and a day for an answer so if this has already been asked and answered please forgive me and feel free to redirect me.

I have a 2018 Nissan Altima SR Midnight that’s equipped with nav, CarPlay and android auto. I’ve tried to no avail but thee Waze app is not showing up on CarPlay. Does that headunit need a software update? Or is there a setting to make it appear? TIA

I just got a reply from Support at 3AM US EDT this morning saying to upgrade to the latest version, I guess this was what they were talking about?
Latest version of Waze?? I’ve got the latest and no change....

Same issue with BMW as well. This time on ID6. As soon as Waze connects to CarPlay, bye bye GPS signal. I would love to try the Nissan fix and see if it works on the BMW
