Who killed Highland TWP?

Post by buzzardjoe
It looks like all roads and places in Highland TWP have had the city name stripped from them, and all just say "no city" now. Someone really didnt like that town very much.

Same problem to the west of Highland in Milford Township, and Brighton, too.

and just to make life more interesting... Michigan has two townships name Highland. The other is in Osceola County, and Waze knows it as "Highland", not "Highland Township". I would prefer to name stuff in the Oakland County Highland Township to be just "Highland", but I waze disallows it since it thinks they are the same city, and the Oakland Count Highland street objects are too far from the other Highland... Does someone knows how to fix this dilemma? Should we implement the Pennsylvania solution with both Highlands? https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Duplicate_ci ... ionTracked

Here is a link to what it looks like in PA: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... 260.250778
Following the standard, we have two choices for Highland Township in Oakland County.. "Highland Twp, Oakland" or "Highland Township, Oakland". I am concerned that this will confuse most people because they will see the "Oakland" and think "Oakland Township", instead of the county because most people do not know that there is a second Highland Township in Michigan we are trying to differentiate from. If we follow the path of more detail, we get "Highland Twp, Oakland County". I guess that's an option, albeit very wordy.
My other thought is that we buck that standard, and rename all the relevant stuff in Osceola County to "Highland Township" (done via DB update instead of direct editing) and then name all the relevant Oakland County stuff to "Highland".
I sure could use some feedback and guidance here!
