I have this same issue occasionally. I believe it first happened to me in 4.57 and I haven't noticed it yet in 4.58, but it seems there are some scaling and map display issues with the app while using CarPlay.chemsal69 wrote:Here's an issue I'm currently having. I have iphone X updated with the latest OS and Waze app. There are times when I open the app in car play that I do not see a Map. I'm able to enter a location for navigation and Waze will navigate the roads (I see pop up text on turns etc.), but still no map. I'm able to unplug my phone open Waze up on the phone and I now have a map. When I plug it in to car play I now have a map appear on the screen. At times (most of the time) the map is blown up almost to the point of pixelation. Also the navigation map is on the right third of the screen vs being centered.
Only other thing I can add is my car is a 2018 chevy colorado.

Does it do this every time? Waze gets the speed data from the vehicle interface when using CarPlay. This could mean you need to update your Silverado’s softwareStevKang62 wrote:I have Chevy Silverado when I use waze my speed is about 50 % of actual speed on the speed o meter reading 80 but on Apple car play it shows as 40

Only fix I have found when that happens is to unplug the phone and plug it back inMowgli1997 wrote:I am still having issues.. anyone know of any further news?DrHKF wrote:Yes, I was seeing the blank screen too! The update to 4.58 seems to have done the trick!

You can report to them via their feedback page.rcazakoff wrote:Still think this is an issue with IOS 13.3 rather than Waze. How does one let Apple know about this problem or are they perhaps aware of this already?

This could be a problem with the Beta of iOS that you are running.Jeep1Dawg wrote:I have a 2016 Honda Accord touring, and when i am using waze especially at night i get a distorted screen sometimes. It act like a bad internet connection and the screen just gets all jumbled up. Any Idea on why. I have iso 13.3.1 and running latest waze build. iphone 10x

I'm thinking this is an issue with Waze itself rather than iOS. Force quitting the app seems to fix it, which tells me that it isn't necessarily an iOS problem but something stuck in the app codeJeep1Dawg wrote:Actually it was doing it when i was on 13.3 also, that is why i upgraded to 13.3.1 to see if that would fix my issue.

Solid point. It very well could be a cord going bad or a bad connection. But everything else works fine. It isn’t consistent eitherrather-B-fishing wrote:If you’re having blank screen or lines on the screen with CarPlay have you tried different cords? As I said in my earlier post I haven’t seen the issue in two different vehicles and I use Waze with CarPlay at least twice a day for over 60 miles 5 days per week, one vehicle with a fairly new 11” or 12” cord and the other is wireless using Bluetooth and Wifi to connect. Both have wireless charger/phone holders.

I personally don't know anybody that has CarPlay over Wi-Fi capability. But I agree, there are too many reports for it to be a cord issue. Unless it's a CarPlay over USB issuerather-B-fishing wrote:I don’t know, has anybody reported the problem that connects to CarPlay with WiFi?pcardoza wrote:Seems to me that there are too many peple reporting this problem for it to be a cord issue.

this issue has been reported a few times but many users and is frustrating of course. The way I have found to "fix" this is by unplugging the cord, and force closing Waze, then opening again and it usually works after that. It seems yours is persistent though through power cycles even?kjstech wrote:Hi,
Since either the latest waze update, or apple ios 13.3, I am seeing just a blank map in Waze when using carplay. All of the other UI elements work fine, like I can select a destination, submit reports, or switch to other working apps and I know the system understands where I am because turn by turn directions pop up at the bottom of the car's screen even when in another fully working app like SiriusXM or Amazon Music. I've even used Waze to set the destination but then switch out to Google maps so I have a map, but still get pop up alerts at the bottom for police and other things.
Also at night it doesn't darken. Its just a beige blank map with the UI elements around it. I thought maybe it was zoomed in way to far but when I tap the zoom out buttons nothing happens. The UI on the iPhone XS Max screen works. It shows destination options and if you unplug the usb cable it then shows the working map. So if you plug it in and then on the phone force quit it, then relaunch it from the waze carplay icon on the car's screen, it works just fine.
I even uninstalled Waze, rebooted the phone, and reinstalled Waze. That did not fix it. App Store is showing Waze 4.58 released 3 weeks ago. I have apps auto update. I have IOS 13.3 installed but don't recall when I installed that (it was fairly recent). I check for IOS updates and it says that the software is up to date. Any ideas how to get it fixed?
