I'm just waiting for someone to have a car accident fumbling with their phone troubleshooting. Waze and Apple better fix the issue or lawyer up.

1. Unplug cable and plug back in
2. force quit and re-open waze

Please note that this is a known issue that is not related to Waze as the car's computer passes the speed info to CarPlay and Waze displays this speed (wrong speed).

We reached out to several car manufacturers asking to fix this, it would be helpful to push for this fix if you could also reach out to your car manufacturer and report about this issue.

I have read threads (from 2018!) that Waze can't control the resolution and it depends on the head unit. But somehow Google Maps got it right!
Common guys, 18 months has passed since then! Please fix.
