Cities are unique objects used by Waze to further locate roads and places within countries and states. Practically, cities serve two purposes: they influence the appearance of the city layer, which is visible in the Waze app and the Waze Map Editor and they support searches to both street addresses and places. This article will explain how to edit cities, how to resolve duplicate city problems and how best to support searches in the Waze app with cities. Due to the federal nature of the United States, states differ on the naming of cities and definition of their boundaries, so check your state wiki page or ask your state managers for more specific guidance with cities in your state.
